General Design File Guidelines

Learn what file types we require to print your products at the highest possible quality

Updated over a week ago

We always need a high-quality file for your designs, although the guidelines might differ slightly depending on the print method.

Direct to Garment Printing

To achieve the best print, we suggest using a PNG with a quality of 300ppi. This ensures your background stays beautifully transparent.

And here's a tip - when creating your artwork, use RGB colour values. Our clever printing software will take care of converting these values to CMYK for the actual print.

Remember, the largest area we can print for DTG is 32cm x 50cm.

We also advise keeping all elements no smaller than 10pt text. Anything tinier than this may not print as crisply or could lose quality as the garment wears. Let's ensure your design looks its absolute best for as long as possible!

Sublimation Printing

This print method is used for mugs, phone cases, beach towels and even our pocket t-shirts!

In all cases, please supply your artwork as a 300ppi PNG in the RGB colour model. Print dimensions and PSD templates can be found in our General Printing Questions guide.

Embroidery

Embroidery requires a digitised file, a specialised file that tells an embroidery machine where, when and how to place stitches. We'll digitise your artwork for you, and we ask customers to upload a 300ppi PNG to offer the best quality file to be created. You can read all about embroidery guidelines in our Embroidery Design File Guidelines article.
