Link existing TikTok Shop products

Already selling on TikTok Shop? Link your existing products to ours so orders come through to us for printing.

When a product in TikTok Shop is linked to one of our products, any order for it is sent to us automatically.

You only need this guide if you already had products in your TikTok shop before you connected to Inkthreadable. Products you export from Inkthreadable are linked automatically, so for new products, we recommend exporting them instead.

Prefer to create products in TikTok yourself?

Exporting is quicker, but if you'd rather build the listing in Seller Centre, have these ready first:

  • Mockup images: create the product on our website and save the mockups. See Creating new products.

  • Product details: materials, colour names and sizes from our product page. Use the same colour and size names as our website, so the product is easy to link.

  • Price: your selling price, including VAT.

  • Quantity: we print on demand, so enter a high number, like 99,999 (TikTok's maximum), so your product doesn't sell out.

  • Package weight: use the weight for your product from the Product Weights section of our Shipping Methods page. This makes sure TikTok charges your customer the right shipping price.

  • Product identifier code (GTIN): leave this blank. It's optional in the UK, and you can't change it once the product is submitted.

Then follow TikTok's guide: How to Add a New Product.

Keep your listing factual. TikTok rejects misleading or exaggerated claims, like "the best t-shirt in the world".

Once TikTok approves the product, come back to this guide to manually link it.

Before you start linking existing products

  • Wait until TikTok has approved your products.

  • Have your print files ready. Each file must be set up on the template for that product. You'll find the templates under the main image on every product page on our website.

Only link products once TikTok has approved them. If TikTok asks you to change a product after you've linked it, you may need to link it again.

Step 1: Open the TikTok integration page

  1. Identify the products you want to manually link.

Any products showing 100% linked are those you've exported from your Inkthreadable account to TikTok, or those you have already linked manually. Any products showing not linked yet need manually linking.

Step 2: Link to our product

  1. Click Edit next to the product.

  2. Click Link product and choose the Inkthreadable product to use for fulfilment. You can click through the menus, or search by name or SKU.

  3. Click Link options to link your variants. A pop-up matches your colours and sizes to ours automatically.

  4. Check each variant is paired correctly. If your colour or size names are different from ours, the pop-up may not match them.

  5. Click Link.

When every variant has a match, the bar shows 100% linked. If a variant in TikTok has no match in our product, it stays unlinked and the bar won't reach 100%. Delete any variants we can't make from your TikTok listing, so customers can't order them.

Step 3: Add your print files

Linking your product to ours tells us which product to use during production. Next, add the design file we'll print onto that product.

You can upload:

  • A master design file: one file used for every variant. This is the quickest option if your product comes in one colour.

  • Custom design files: a file for a single variant, for example a white design for a black t-shirt. A custom file replaces the master file for that variant.

We recommend uploading a master file first, then custom files for any variants that need them.

  1. Scroll to the bottom of the linking page.

  2. Under Designs, click Upload.

  3. Choose your design file.

  4. Select the decoration area it's for, for example the front.

  5. For embroidery, select up to six thread colours. If you don't select them, we can't guarantee which threads we'll use, and a mismatch won't count as a fault.

Fixing the red exclamation error

A red exclamation mark means your file isn't saved to the right dimensions for the print area. If you don't fix it, we'll stretch your design to fill the print area, and it will print warped. The preview box shows how it will print.

To fix it, re-save your design file to the dimensions shown under the decoration area, then upload it again. You can also use the templates on each product page to save your design at the right size.

Adding custom design files for a variant

  1. Scroll to the variant that needs its own design.

  2. Click Upload and follow the same steps as above.

  3. Repeat for each variant that needs its own design.

Step 4: Adding mockups

Our team uses mockups during production to check your product.

  1. Scroll to the Mockups heading at the bottom of the page.

  2. Click any images from your TikTok listing that you'd like to use. You can also upload your own with the Upload button.

  3. For each mockup, select the decoration area it shows.

Your mockups must show a product we can make. If a mockup shows something we can't achieve, a product that doesn't match it won't count as a production fault. You can download mockups from any of our product pages.

Optional: Adding printed labels

If a product can have a printed neck label, you'll see the option in each variant's settings.

  1. Scroll to the first variant.

  2. Under Branding options, select your brand and label.

  3. To use the same label for every variant, click Apply these options to all variations.

To use a different label for each size, set the brand and label on each variant yourself.

If no brand shows in the list, you haven't set up your brand profile. If no label shows, you haven't saved any labels to it.

Step 5: Save

Click Save. The green bar next to each product shows how much of it is linked. When it shows 100%, that product is ready for orders.

Repeat these steps for each product that isn't linked yet.
