Troubleshooting the "Invalid Post Code" Error on Etsy

Having trouble exporting your products to Etsy? This article will provide you with the steps to fix the "Invalid Post Code" error message.

Updated over a week ago

If you see the error message "Invalid Post Code" when using the Etsy integration, there's a simple fix to resolve it in your Etsy store.

The first step is to open Etsy shop manager and head to your Shipping Profile.

  • Settings > Delivery Settings

  • Click the pencil icon to edit your Delivery profile.

  • Check that the Origin postcode field is formatted correctly (with a space).

If you don't have any delivery profiles yet - follow our guide to set them up before exporting your products to Etsy.

Postcodes typically have two parts, separated by a space. If you're seeing the error message when using Etsy, this could be because your postcode is missing the space - so make sure to double-check that it's been included!

If you're not seeing a space in your postcode, add one and then save the shipping profile.

For example, if your origin postcode were "BB13BY", it would need to be updated to "BB1 3BY", including the space.

Once you've added the space, your postcode should now be valid on Etsy, and you can export products without any error messages.

If you have multiple delivery profiles, repeat the steps to correct the postcode for each one.
