This guide provides step-by-step instructions for managing your BigCartel orders and linking products before they enter production.
Inkthreadable's integration with BigCartel allows for automatic order syncing, so all orders placed on BigCartel will appear in your Inkthreadable account for review.
You can view product details, link the order to a new product, and easily manage it from within your Inkthreadable dashboard.

Reviewing New Orders 🛒
When you receive an order on BigCartel for a product that hasn't been linked with Inkthreadable yet, it must be reviewed before paying for it to be produced.
To find out if you have orders waiting, head to the BigCartel orders page in your Inkthreadable account:
If you have orders waiting, you’ll see this message: "You have pending orders requiring action".
Click "Manage Big Cartel Orders" to see a list of your BigCartel orders.
On the left, you'll see the BigCartel order number, your customer's name and the amount that they paid for the order.
In the middle, you'll see what date/time the order was received.
Finally, on the right-hand side, you'll see the order status:
0% Pending - The products on this order have not yet been linked to Inkthreadable.
50% Pending - Some products on this order are linked to Inkthreadable.
100% Complete - All of the products are linked, and the order has been raised.
Any orders which are not complete will need to be linked before the order can be sent for production.
Linking Your Products ✅
To begin linking your products, click "Review Order".
A drop-down will appear detailing the contents of the order.
On the right-hand side, the Sync status confirms whether or not that product has been linked to Inkthreadable.
❌ - This product is not yet linked to Inkthreadable.
✔️ - This product has already been linked to Inkthreadable.
In the example below, we must link the L / White t-shirt before completing the order.
Click Link Product.
A new page will load with options for linking this to an Inkthreadable product.
You only need to link each product once, and in future, any orders for the same product will have the status "Complete" automatically.
Step 1 - Select the product blank
To begin, click "Link".
Then, type in the name of the product you'd like to add your design to.
In this example, we want to use the 'Men's Recycled Cool T-shirt'.
Click the relevant option in the drop-down.
Step 2 - Specify the colour and size
On the left-hand side, you'll see the product that your customer has ordered.
Click the checkbox.
More options will appear to the right, and this is where you will select the options for the product link. It's important that you select these correctly.
Colour: Select the colour that your customer ordered.
Size: Select the size that your customer ordered.
Brand: Select the Brand that you'd like to use for this product.
Label: Add a printed label (t-shirts only).
Once you have selected the correct options, the Product variant details box will show you the product's cost, along with how much profit you will make on this product.
Step 3 - Upload your design
Finally, to complete the product link, you must select a mockup and upload a templated design file.
Scroll down to the Mock up section where your product image from BigCartel is displayed.
Select the image, and we'll use this mockup for product-checking purposes.
Finally, upload your templated design file under the Print files heading.
Once your design is uploaded, click Save.
Paying for your orders 💳
You'll be returned to the BigCartel orders page to continue reviewing your orders:
a) If this was the only product on the order, your order will now be "Complete", and an Inkthreadable order number will be assigned.
b) If more items were on the order, the status will remain "Pending". You can either link all of the items to be produced by Inkthreadable, or you can click "Complete" to submit the order using only the products that you have linked already. Any non-linked products will not be sent to Inkthreadable for production.
Once your order is "Complete", all that's left to do is to pay for the product for it to be printed and shipped to your customer!
Click the Inkthreadable order number to pay for it individually, or head to your unpaid orders page to pay for multiple at once.
Once paid, we'll print, pack and ship your order within 3 - 5 working days.
Keeping on top of your orders 😌
Good news! If you receive another order for the same item in the future, it will automatically show up on your unpaid orders page.
It's always good to stay on top of your BigCartel orders and make sure they're not left in the "Pending" status.
We suggest taking a quick scan every day to keep things running smoothly. It'll only take a minute, and it'll give you peace of mind knowing everything's up to date!
