Adjusting Prices on Shopify using Markets to Collect USA Tariffs

Learn how to adjust Shopify product prices for US customers with custom catalogues, ensuring tariffs are included in checkout.

Updated this week

With the introduction of US tariffs, you may want to increase your prices for US customers only, without changing your global pricing. Shopify offers a built-in solution through Shopify Markets that allows you to create a custom catalogue and automatically adjust prices for specific countries.

How to set up a USA market in Shopify

  1. Log in to your Shopify Admin.

  2. Go to Settings > Markets.

  3. Click Create Market and name it USA.

  4. Click Add Condition, select United States, then click Done.

Enable currency customisation

  • Shopify will automatically display prices in USD for your US customers.

Create a custom catalogue

  1. Under Catalog, click the + icon to create a new catalogue.

  2. The title will default to the name of your market (USA) and set prices in USD.

Adjust your catalogue pricing

  1. In the Pricing section, go to Overall price adjustment.

  2. Select Increase and enter your desired percentage (we recommend 10%).

Assign products to your catalogue

  1. All of your default products will be included automatically. We recommend keeping this enabled.

  2. Make sure Automatically include new products is selected.

  3. Click Save.

βœ… With this setup, US customers will see adjusted prices in USD that already account for tariffs. This avoids checkout surprises, protects your margins, and keeps your global pricing unchanged.
